Meet Tina

I'm Tina Butera, a cradle Catholic, wife, mother of three young adult children, retired instructional coach, and former World Language teacher. When I'm not traveling, enjoying something humorous, or staying active, you'll usually find me learning something new. Looking at my bookshelves and podcasts, you would quickly notice three recurring themes: Catholic faith, neuroscience, and human flourishing.

As retirement approached, I began asking the Lord how He might be inviting me to continue serving others. Through the Catherine of Siena Institute, I discerned my charisms of teaching, encouragement, and knowledge. That journey led me to Metanoia Catholic, where I became a Certified Catholic Mindset Coach.

There, I discovered a framework that beautifully integrated the Catholic understanding of the human person with practical insights from neuroscience and mindset coaching. It brought together many of the truths I had spent years observing in education, coaching, and my own spiritual life.

I founded Resilience & Renewal Coaching to serve educators, ministry leaders, parents, caregivers, and others who spend much of their lives caring for those around them. These generous individuals often extend compassion, encouragement, and intentionality to everyone else while struggling to offer the same to themselves.

Through coaching, we partner together to develop practical skills that help renew the mind, strengthen resilience, and move forward with greater clarity, peace, and holy confidence.

My Journey to Resilience and Renewal

Through my training with Metanoia Catholic, many of the pieces finally came together. As St. Joan of Arc famously said, “All battles are first won or lost in the mind.” I learned how to become aware of my thoughts, examine them through reason and truth, and bring them to prayer. I began practicing what St. Paul describes when he tells us to “take every thought captive” (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Slowly, I experienced the renewal of my mind.

I discovered that while I could not always control my circumstances, I could learn to respond differently to them. I learned to identify lies, replace them with truth, and cultivate habits that fostered greater peace and resilience. What once felt overwhelming became an invitation to trust God more deeply and walk forward with greater confidence in His care.

I am still learning and growing every day, but I can honestly say these practices have transformed the way I approach daily life, challenges, relationships, and my walk with the Lord. That transformation is what inspires my coaching today. I believe the Lord desires the same freedom, clarity, and peace for you. My role is not to provide all the answers, but to help you learn the practical skills of awareness, reason, prayer, and intentional action so that you can move forward with resilience, renewal, and holy confidence.

As a language teacher, I know that words matter—including the words we say to ourselves. Yet despite years of helping others learn and grow, I often found myself caught in patterns of self-criticism, worry, overwhelm, and confusion.

As an instructional coach, I noticed many of the people I worked with carried a similar burden. They felt unseen, unheard, stretched too thin, and overwhelmed by competing demands. They were deeply committed to serving others, yet often neglected their own interior lives. I saw how certain beliefs and thought patterns fueled unwanted emotions, making it difficult to respond with clarity, peace, and confidence.

The truth is, I struggled with many of those same patterns myself.

In creating and facilitating professional development on emotional resilience for my colleagues, I noticed that I myself had been taking on more responsibility than I was intended to carry. I had spent years surrendering my peace to circumstances beyond my control and allowing worry, perfectionism, and self-doubt to shape my perspective. Too often, I found myself sitting in discouragement, resentment, and overwhelm, unsure how to move forward.

Why I Coach

My passion lies at the intersection of Catholic faith, neuroscience, and mindset. I believe God created us with the capacity to direct our thoughts, examine them with reason, and cooperate with His grace in the process of transformation.

Many faithful Catholics know what they believe but struggle to apply those truths when faced with stress, uncertainty, self-doubt, or competing demands. This work is not simply about feeling better in the moment. It is about developing practical skills you can use for a lifetime.

Together, we learn to notice unhelpful thought patterns, evaluate them through reason and truth, bring them to prayer, and move forward with intentional action. The result is greater clarity, resilience, peace, and confidence rooted not in circumstances, but in God’s truth.

You do not have to navigate overwhelm, confusion, or self-doubt alone. If you are seeking a practical path forward grounded in faith, reason, and grace, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward resilience and renewal.
